Montemartini has a story to tell. It is a story of the rediscovery of our origins and prestigious past. It is a story of vineyards that represent part of Italy’s wine heritage and a land rich in traditions with outstanding food and wine products.

It is our own story, connected to an important and noble past, that of the Montemartini family who, already in the late 1800s and early 1900s, planted autochthonous vines – Ortrugo, Barbera, Bonarda and Malvasia di Candia – in Ziano, where our agricultural business can be found today. These original vineyards, extending over many hectares under one estate, still grow wonderfully under the sun.

Montemartini is also about choices made not only in the vineyard, but also in the cellars, to achieve a selective production which brings out the best in each single variety.

Since noble families once turned to artists for their portraits, in the same way Master Bargoni created a sophisticated, elegant and simultaneously modern and colourful label for our wines – an image that stimulates emotions.

The Area

Telling the story of our area is a pleasure because it deserves to be more widely known. It is a place rich in history, a stage where significant events have taken place since Roman times. Traces of this past can be found in the mediaeval villages and fortified strongholds still guarding our valleys.

Not only history, but also many traditions in wine and food. Cold cuts of meat, cheese and filled pasta represent a culinary heritage that has always perfectly accompanied our wines.

In this area full of history, passion and flavour, Montemartini was born.
